Am toying with trekking over. Travel over the mountains may be tough though, so if winter returns it won't happen. My first look at the book had some interesting hips, I'll take another look if the trip is a possibility.

298 looks very interesting. Sky Classic mare with great connections, sw early on still earning $, mare has some mileage left. Secret Circle won't excite, so I think the price will be quite reasonable. From what I saw at FT Midatlantic, no one seems to be real interested in mares.

With the new EHV testing restrictions in ky I think in foal mares might pick up a bit.

Hip 238 is the nice stakes filly Super Majesty. I believe she ran in the 2015 BC F & M Sprint. She is a broodmare prospect. Not much wrong with her female side, and she's by Super Saver (who may have lost a little shine this year).

Hip 345 has a strong female family - 3rd dam is Sky Beauty. The mare won 4 times for Fox Hill Farm, sold for $350,000 as a yearling. She beat GSW Cali Star in an allowance, and ran 4th and 5th in two stakes races.

Hip 429 is a SW in foal to Tapiture. That's a quality stakes producing family on the female side at Hastings Park. Would suit a smaller, regional breeder.

Hip 636 is a 1/2 to Mr. Z. She looked like a racehorse at 2. 2nd dam is Amelia Bearhart.

These are the ones that stood out to me on paper.

A couple I will be watching --

60, Reservation Blues -- she was part of the Ned Evans dispersal. Liked her then, still a young mare.

77, Salama -- this mare ran in the 2015 BC Distaff. Saw her in person and she was GORGEOUS!

I'm going! Buying and selling. I wouldn't gage interest in mares based off the ftma sale. I completely agree with Carrie Brogen's assessment that most of them never should've crossed the threshold of the breeding shed. There were not enough good ones to attract money or interest to that sale.

I will be there also looking for a couple of racing prospects. 129 outs is only 20% which is lower than the Keeneland January sale had. I've always preferred the F-T Feb to Kee Jan. By the way LOOK at the stallions for sale at the end. Value Plus, Da Stoops and It's No Joke among others.

Cool Coal Man is no slouch. Most will probably go to Turkey, UAE, Russia or Korea I'm afraid. $25k could net you a whole operation - decent stallion, couple of mares and a race horse or two.

Just going through the results and didn't notice hip 624 until now - Soarwiththebirds, sold for $110,000 to Blandford Bloodstock. She's a Giants Causeway 1/2 to Up With the Birds. A Sam-Son Farm cull.
Sam-Son culls in recent years have provided Moreno and El Areeb, not too shabby.

Looks like Cool Coal Man will be given a descent opportunity over in Europe. He was very attractive. Hope his new home works out for him.

Da Stoops sold for only $4,000 and (per Bloodhorse) is going to stand in Oklahoma for $1,000. Hope he does well there.

A chance there - not a commercial fit for Ky.
