Congrats Madelyn!

Postby Joltman » Tue Jul 13, 2021 2:55 pm

Great run on first asking by the 2yo Southern Sky at Belterra today! Mowed that field down in the off going from off the pace. Gotta be thrilled with a promising 2yo. My only complaint is I didn't get to the window...

Hope she comes out of it OK - wishing you the best with her -

I was over the moon, as they say, as was the owner for whom this is the first TB he bred. Miranda rode textbook paddock instructions and the race unfolded as predicted.

Congratulations, Madelyn! Sounds like a great thrill for everyone involved.

I imagine we will look for something good. While this was the "prep" for the Debutante, I will be exploring other options too.

So many possibilities. :D Hopefully she'll continue to be confident as she faces tougher in the rarefied air.

How well does she like going on your AW track? That might offer some surprising form somewhere like Arlington or Presque Isle or the turf.

She's a really good horse; confident, happy if not enthusiastic. She goes on everything we've tried - poly, mud, dirt. We'll try grass if that comes up as an option.

Really sounds great! So glad you've come up with a nice one.

Thanks so much Mahubah. The harder I work the luckier I get.. I won't ever forget our lovely visit when you came to my farm to attend the Breeder's Cup.. I was a horseman who was a dreamer and a neophyte. I have always deeply appreciated the opportunity to learn from all of those so much more knowledgeable than me about racing.

Each horse I work with teaches me more. I feel so incredibly blessed with this filly And her owner. We'll see now how she handles the Ellis Debutante.

You were a most gracious hostess, and I enjoyed my stay. I still remember yelling for Invasor as he came storming down the lane!
