Montjeu - Sadler's Wells heir apparent?

Postby Galileo1998 » Sun Jun 05, 2005 3:25 pm

His first crop of is now three.

The runaway winner of yesterday's Epsom Derby was by Montjeu, and the second place horse was by him as well.

The second place horse in todays French Derby was by Montjeu.

Montjeu himself was an unbeaten Stakes winner at two, duel Derby and Arc winner at three and won three Gr. 1 races at four.

I know it's early to be handing him a crown :D but the future is looking pretty good!

Thoughts?

An auspicious start to be sure and perhaps he'll wear his father's crown someday.

Montjeu - Sadler's Wells heir apparent?

Postby erins isle » Mon Jun 06, 2005 3:50 am

Last night when I checked the result of the French Derby I was just thinking the same thing Galileo, the old man, we must not forget that he is 24 already, will finally have his heir. I may also say after consulting my christal ball, that there is one other on the way, and I am talking about your namesake! I think he could be a great stallion as well.
Time will only tell.
Respectfully, Erin

Montjeu sons finished first and second in the Irish Derby today, and they weren't either of the two that finished first and second at Epsom.

French Derby runner up Hurrican Run won the Irish Derby today and second place went to Scorpion.

It boggles the mind and puts Giant's Causeway to shame.

I highly recommend this PedigreePost Article on the Epsom Derby Winner Motivator for some insights into Montjeu: http://www.pedigreepost.com/archives/Mo ... anuel.html .

I don't 100% agree with all his conclusions but learned a great deal from investigating the trail of inquiry he blazed in regards to Forli, Sipsey Bridge, and Mixed Marraige.

hi Galileo1998...hi Pete...hi erins isle...hi llbean

Montjeu is certainly showing serious signs (maybe an understatement) that he's likely the real-deal.

llbean wrote "It boggles the mind and puts Giant's Causeway to shame."

Might be a bull's-eye of a description, llbean. Team Montjeu must have a very wide smile  about this time.

Turns out Montjeu was the Coolmore 'bargain' in 2005 at E45,000. Sounds like an oxymoron (Coolmore...'bargain')...

...but arguably, proof that miracles can happen.
