Cox's Ridge?
Okay I've got a mare by a full brother to Cox's Ridge that my dad wants to breed next year. I'm sort of at a loss so far with her. In general, what lines worked well with Cox's Ridge? I've seen that a lot of his best daughters saw a lot of Mr. P and ND line stallions with mixed results. Is that a good direction to look in? Her sire's best daughter saw Rahy, Stormin Fever and another stallion who's name I forget. Dam was a blacktype producer with a son of Raise A Native, so Mr. P seems the way to go.
Mating advice
Austique:
If memory serves me, look at Out of Place, a son of Cox's Ridge. He's had a tremendous affinity for Kris S daughters, lots of black type produced from Kris S as a broodmare sire. You might flip the pedigree and and look for a son of Kris S (Kissin Kris?).

Who's the mare?
I abstain from mentioning the mare's name due to the fact that I'm still in the early fact finding, goal setting stage. I like Kissin Kris, but the resultant foal would have 4 crosses of Turn-to and while I'm not as convinced as Ballymoss that Turn-to inbreeding is the root of all evil, 4 crosses is probably not so much of a good idea. Plus I'm more of a Prized girl myself. Must be why Sam and I don't see eye to eye all the time

Kissin Kris LIKES more T-T ... though I've not seen many (any? .. would have to check my files when I get home) through Cox's Ridge.
The 4x of T-T wouldn't bother me depending on where it is (and I'm sure it wouldn't be close enough to make a huge deal about)
Actually I like Prized, I just think Kissin Kris is better which is why he's gone to KY and why I'm willing to bet Prized goes to FL before the end of next year .. it's Arch that I don't particularly care for.
Yay! A kindred spirit! My whole family is like obsessed with the show and it's filmed on Oahu where my mom lives and she has an in with the medic for the show.
I don't know about Desmond (maybe he'll tie everyone together), but there was symbol on the sharks tale that matched the one on his uniform. I'm a dork!

Morning, Austique. I have a 2003 Blood Horse Nicks book, only slightly out of date. Cox's Ridge had a high percentage as a broodmare sire, with 6% SW. Of his 153 grandget from Mr. Prospector sons 9% were SW.
The earners of $200K+ include Stephen Got Even (by A.P.Indy), Ensign Ray (Blue Ensign), Mongoose (Broad Brush), Wagon Limit (Conquistador Cielo), Hook and Ladder (Dixieland Band), Stormy Ambition (Eastern Echo), Esker Island (End Sweep), Nuclear Debate (Geiger Counter), West By West (Gone West), Home on the Ridge (Homebuilder), Bosque Redondo (Mane Minister), Orientate (Mt. LIvermore), Zavata (Phone Trick), Aztec Hill (Proud Truth), Yaros (Rare Brick), Cool N Collective (Ruhlmann), Make Your Mark (Sheikh Albadou), As You Like (Trempolino), Valid Bonnet (Valid Appeal), Jacksonport (Vigors), and La Rosa (Wild Again). Likely there are others as well, who just weren't the top earner listed.
The most talented ($500K+) seem to be from A.P. Indy, Broad Brush, Conqu. Cielo, Geiger Counter, Gone West, Mt. LIvermore, Proud Truth, and Vigors. Broad Brush had 5 SW/15 tries, Eastern Echo 2/4, Geiger Counter 2/4, Rare Brick 2/4, Seeking the Gold 2/4. All others listed had none or one each.

Rocking H
I never saw the announcement, but per Bloodhorse online sirelist, Rare Brick is now standing in Ok for a mere $1,000 down from $3,000 in Tx. I saw him here and always liked his double of Myrtelwood. He is getting up in years. He is a solid breed to race stallion in my book. I thought he had a fiery personality when I saw him - and he gets a lot of winners / foals if not spectacular race horses.

Thanks bunches Henthorn
We were actually looking at Evansville Slew for her as it seemed there was an effort to inbreed to Bold Ruler for her female family in the past and he brings in some Mr. P as well. Only thing we're worried about is combining two 16.3 hand horses. You've definitely given me some other directions to look in.
The Eastern Echo thing is interesting as that was another pattern I noticed in the breeding of her female family there was a lot of mares going to the Damascus line.
Scott, I saw that Rare Brick is headed into Oklahoma. I really like him, but his fertility has never been super and he's getting up there in age. While usually I would give him a shot this mare can be slow to get in foal, so he's kind of out for her. Good suggestion though.

Perhaps not the direction you were looking, yet Ghazi has done well with mare carrying Turn-To...and his broodmare sire is Damascus. Pesonal bias and unscientific analysis admitted.
