Restless Con sired 3 foals in 2005.....¿¿¿names????

Postby Jorge » Wed Sep 28, 2005 6:02 pm

Dear Sam,

Hi again!

According to the following reference:

http://jockeyclub.com/information.asp?r ... 4&letter=R

Restless Con sired this year a total of 3 foals, most probably his last crop.
I was trying to identify the three mares and babes via several sources without much luck. By any chance, do you have any link or suggestion?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Blessings,

Sam

'bout the only thing I could suggest would be to run a 310 from equineline. That would give you all the foals in all of his crops (including the '05s) and their colour/race records.

Other than that .. I'll ask a friend how nice he feels like being  waves to said friend who shall remain anonymous

Dear Sam,

Thank you very much for the suggestion. Last time I considered that option the names didn't came up until sort of late. The difficulty about this sire is that he is no longer in vogue ---sort of forgotten!
Also, I haven't received or updated any additional information on his pre-2005 sons, albeit I finally got their names and nothing more (Furno Dancer, Wuddenme and Echo Army).

Anyway, glad to know he sired 3 more foals in 2005. Hope they have repeated the Echo Eddie, Con Quixote, Mike K or Long Gone Con crosses.
All stakes winners yet geldings.

Thanks again for your message.

Blessings,

What about Restless Con's Californian active remaining sons and daugthers?

Any update would be appreciated.

Merry Christmas come early...

Restless Con's named foals

Far as I can tell, everything that was born prior to 2000 has been gelded. There does appear to be at least 7 intact males born after 2000 of which 3 (maybe 4) are grey. As for the mares, it appears all but about 10 have never been bred.

The three foals this year (2 fillies and an unnamed colt) are from the mares:

Unnamed colt out My Isabella (Ferdinand)
My Birthday Wish out of Wish Of My Own (Imp Society)
Forever A Con out of Forever Mango (Bold Badgett)

BTW ... just as a general note to the board (IOW, whoever might care) .. I have no problem doing that (progeny clean up) ... but someone else has to start paying for the reports or at least send me the money to pay for them (and a little extra for time invested would be nice). 108 foals took just over 3 hours.

Dear Sam,

Thank you very much for trying to update these records. Wow, according to another official source Con Juan was chestnut but now he is gray. I don't protest! Nice to see that Echo Freddie is a multiple winner (2).

HOPE THEY KEEP HIM AS AN ENTIRE HORSE AS WELL AS THE REMAINING SONS OF RESTLESS CON. SOMEONE MAY WANT TO PRESERVE RESTLESS CON'S LINEAGE.

No offense .. but unless they are turning into excellent sporthorses, ALL of Restless Con's colts should be gelded and none of the mares should be bred. He's not producing as a race sire so I'm glad he's been pensioned ... he probably should have been gelded years ago. There's nothing about him that needs to be bred on and I don't believe in breeding a horse for colour purposes only.

Dear TJ,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comunication.
I have all his abbreviated races. What I would like to
know is whether he died, change careers, was retired to another
discipline, etc., because he just vanished after a couple of
decent speedy Allowance victories. I would like to analyze his
potential as sire. In fact another full brother to him
was produced a year later (2005) after Con Juan's birth in 2004.
Seems like no one in California knows anything about him (Con Juan).
Con Juan seems to be the only surviving entire male Thoroughbred
sired by Restless Con, for all of his sons were unnecesarily gelded.
Con Juan's younger full-brother also vanished, but worse, he didn't even raced. It's incredible that no one in California knows about him.

Hi Jorge,
I would contact the Jockey Club with your inquiry. The problem is many times the death or export certificate are not filed. Here is the contact info. TJ

Just thought i would comment...I purchased Long Gone Con in 2006 after his last race at Suffolk Downs... He retired 100% sound after a long career with earnings over $300k. He has unfortunately passed away as result of a tragic pasture accident, but I wanted to say that he was one of my favorite horses I've ever had the pleasure of owning. All heart, smart, athletic and strong. A beautiful mover and a friendly yet proud creature.
I often wished I could find one of his siblings...
Con is pictured in my photo icon...I miss him every day
