Almahmoud by Mahmoud-Arbitrator by Peace Chance she is the dam of Natalma and Cosmah and with the influence of Northern Dancer and Halo along with many others from this line she is one of the most influential mares of all time.

Silver Fog by Mahmoud-Equilette by Equipoise she is the dam of Silver Spoon and Silver Bright the dam of Banquet Table and State Dinner. Silver Fog is also the 4th dam of Kentucky Derby Winner Gato Del Sol.

Boudoir by Mahmoud-Kampala by Clarissimus she is the dam of Flower Bed who is the dam of Flower Bowl who is the dam of Graustark, His Majesty, and Bowl of Flowers. You are completely right. In addition to your comments, we may also add the super importance of ALMAHMOUD among sabinos, for HALO and NORTHERN DANCER are two of its most important pillars.

Well, this is a description of an observation. But what is the explanation for Mahmoud’s success as a BMS compared to his low impact on the breed as a sire (and sire of sires)? Is he a proof for the validity of the "x-factor"-theory? This assumption may be underlined by his strong female line (comments from PQ database):

Mah Mahal (dam): „Bred 9 foals, 8 raced, 7 winners. Blue Hen Mare”

Mumtaz Mahal (grand dam): “Rated by Timeform as the fastest filly of all time and the 2nd ranked filly in terms of racing impact (racing and breeding) for the 20th Century”.

Mumtaz Mahal 2nd dam of Nasrullah and Mahmoud makes her quite the influential mare
