If you want a new regional stallion, Lawrence The Roman is going to stand in NY next year.

Farms in upstate NY are looking at Naughty New Yorker as a prospect right now.

Master Command to Taylor-Made. I saw him this past weekend. A nice-looking horse with an excellent pedigree.

Did Lawrence the Roman cover any mares this year?

No - the decision to retire him first came in April.

Don't know where he'll stand, but Shakespeare is retired now too.

Pint sized Wilko is going to Adena South next year for $10,000. He offers an interesting alternative to Awesome Again and Ghostzapper, huh?

Giacomo and Wilko - does anyone wonder about Adena's youth movement?

Don't you think $10,000 for Wilko who hasn't won a race for as long as I can remember and is pint sized is a bit much? Millenium couldn't get a book for a small but blindingly successful horse with a great female family like Super Frolic, and now he's dead because smallness doesn't sell. I just don't see this Wilko angle at all.

geo, I think Super Frolic is really dead, and not just in the commercial sense. They never got him at all. His retirement was announced, but he didn't get to retire.

Madelyn, I know Super Frolic is really dead in a horrible breakdown. I was speaking literally. He retired to stud at Millenium and then they weren't satisfied with the book he was getting (supposedly because he was small) so they sent him back racing with the intention to then retire him to stud in the Mid Atlantic.

I thought he was a great stallion prospect yet he was kicked out of Kentucky before even getting to sire a foal - and now we have small Wilko getting the chance (at 10k!) and he isn't half the horse Super Frolic was.
