We sent one mare to him and she caught on the first cover in mid March.
What's the name of your mare? I don't expect him to turn into a flop at stud by any means and even if he isn't the next Storm Cat or AP Indy, nothing wrong with being the next Kingmambo (also insanely well-bred).
I have mixed feelings about Hard Spun's fee because I really like him for this freshman class. I think he can play at that level but I'd prefer him to work up to it instead of start off. Rather than lower it to $40,000 or something. I just think he stands a good chance of succeeding Danzig, well, better than others that have tried in recent years I mean.
About Street Sense, I'm concerned though about the mutual father-son hanging when he hits the lead thing. If they both do it, is there a mental quirk that gets passed along? I find that so bizarre to think about but I also wonder if that means he's more likely to send out foals like him which, hey, I wouldn't kick outta the barn if you know what I'm saying. Perhaps ill-informed logic but I'm thinking out loud.
