I'm with Maven....what's not to like about a mare by Pleasant Tap?
What synthetics are to California racing:

Thanks for your insights. How would you breed a good Pleasant Tap mare?
She is Nijinski and Exclusive Native on her bottom side.
Thanks again for your thoughts. Anyone else?
Without knowing anything else, the Phipps have had good success with Seeking the Gold and Pleasant Colony mares. Might it be worth looking at an extended cross with Mutakkdim?

Hi Kimberley (still with 2 e's)
Off hand, I was thinking just like you, but I was thinking a reverse combination (Northern Dancer over Seeking The Gold) with Exchange Rate. I think he offers more speed to this mare's pedigree, and he's also a pretty good bargain at $10,000 (I believe that's his fee).
Worse comes to worse, Exchange Rate foals are good looking and sell well. Nothing wrong with Mutakddim, though...everybody in Canada is nuts about that sire.

Hi Folks,

Maven,
You're correct that Adena doesn't need much outside support. They book their stallions to their own mares and then remove those as needed to accomodate outside buyers of seasons.
Kimberley,
Alphabet Soup went out with a fee of $30,000 that was lowered to $15,000 then back up to $25,000 and that has dropped since.
Regards,
Pete

I heard that it was self-inflicted.I once owned a pair...my girlfriend chopped them off a long time ago. *sigh*

I found this on horsehats ( I think they had 100 partners buy 1 share)
The above colts are offered as one package and the Adena Racing Venture is selling 60 shares in total. Each share will cost $50,000 and represents a 1/60 ownership stake in each horse. All other expenses are NOT INCLUDED in the $50,000 share. Each shareholder will be responsible for training, vet, blacksmith, etc. The Horse Hats Racing Club will charge for training expenses up front. Adena anticipates that training costs for 6 horses will be approximately $35,000 per year per horse. Training expenses for 2 years for all 6 horses will cost approximately $720,000 which would be $12,000 for our 1/60 share
If I could be anywhere at any time it would be Keeneland in the spring.
Hi Sir Barton,
Thanks for the post, I had a good chuckle. This is the link to the Adena site. http://www.adenaracingventure.com/
Perhaps Adena has solved how to maximize return on their foals this way.
The 2 most interesting seem to be:
Unnamed, (c. 2005) by Sligo Bay - Baby Zip by Relaunch
Golden Dynasty, (c. 2005) by Touch Gold - Primal Force by Blushing
So for $50,000 you get 1/60th share of Ghostzapper's little brother (nice pic) and Awesome Again and Macho Uno's kid brother. That could end up being one syndicate share for each partner and that might make this a interesting because if one of these boys won a Stakes they'd be stallion prospects. The problem of course if that the sires are Sligo Bay and Touch Gold. Well, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Pete
