welp that changes everything. orb has to beat me without lasix

Hi bdw,
If you think Orb is lasix free that isn't the case. He raced lasix free as a 2YO. This year he's had Lasix in all 3 of his starts and will have lasix in the Derby today. TJ

TJ

i read it wrong. that was a confusing read

I'm with orb. too much value. even if i wager and lose it's a good bet to get the best horse in the race at 7 to 1. Talent wise i think he has this field over a barrel. he can very well lose but if he loses i don't think it will be beucase he wasn't good enough and at 7 to 1, you cant' do much better than that

i think we w ill have a triple crown winner this year. i really do. not that i think orb is as good as slew or anything but he's consistent, the trainer is a real trainer, and he's just better than these horses. he's better than anything they can throw out there

this wasn't anything like last year. this race was extremely easy to handicap as far as who can do what. the oaklawn horses weren't that good.. someone has to finish in front, socal horses were slow, etc

the only thing that added some spice to it really was the track conditions. but orb has always been at the top of my list and at 6 to 1 you take the horse that is at the top of your list conditions be damned

Hello to all fellow horsey fans! I hope you all have been doing well and staying healthy, both yourselves and in your barn!! :D

I know its after the derby, but as my signature at the bottom reveals, I am Ruffian's biggest fan. Then,, so are a lot of others, so there was only one horse for me, the beautiful, peaking at the right time Shug Mc. old schooled trained ORB!!

I even had the husband, who is a hockey guy, sitting there next to me screaming for Orb to pull it forward, and he did! To say that when I saw Ruffian's silks out on the Derby track, I was besides myself!! He even resembles her in so many ways, that female family of his is strong as I've ever seen. He has the low neck style of the Slew line when he runs, but in every other way, he's his great aunt's nephew! Can you all only imagine if he gets the Preakness, then goes back to Belmont, where Ruffian is laying at rest, and passes by that finish line first as she did so many times?? I agree with BDW, I think we have a special event going to happen, no guarantees, he could throw in a clunker, but that family rarely does.

Go ORB!!! Bro spelled backwards, how he got the name...
Hi dubli, BDW, Madelyn and Karenkarenn...missed you guys...gals.... :D
God Bless all!
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......

Hi BDW, hope this finds you doing well my friend!!

Yes, indeed, just by getting a look at Orb, you can tell that family, he has the "family butt" (that extra almost pointy edgy style, extra muscles) and the higher set tail, and if you watch him walk, there are great videos of him on the Blood Horse site, look at his rear legs, how he walks. Ruffian walked like a football player in the rear as well, since they are so 'well endowed' in the hiney. Additionally, his face, look at Ruffian's face, and then look at his. They have that certain look about them. IMHO, the strongest female line family, even moreso than Zenyatta's female line, and the most recognizable as well.
Shug is old school, notice that Orb is still wearing the SAME STYLE bridle that Ruffian did years ago. No silly things on his face, no chronic shadow rolls, nose tape, no white (ugly imho) bridles, just a plain old bridle and bit like we have in our own barns. In fact I have one next to me in my room as I write this. Less is more. And we are losing the back to basics trainers like Shug, and the look and shock on his face that day was worth a billion dollars! This is the old school trainer that brought along Personal Ensign to an undefeated career, we all remember that, Easy Goer, and also Personal Ensign's daughter and granddaughter. If memory serves me right, they all have used that basic bit bridle with no pageantry. Sorry Hollywood money Todd P! Shug got ya! And I hope he gets ya in two weeks again and then again in 3 weeks later, at Belmont, where this Shenanigan's family line and Shug rules! Go ORb GO!! And where the Great Ruffian lays at rest nose pointed towards his finish line. OK, where is the Kleenix again... :D
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......
