Summerhorse
The thing is, she had listed him as Jelly Roll Rock wasn't his name Jelly Roll Romp?
I thought someone else owned him? Wouldn't the owners know if he had died or not?

There are two separate horses, one named Jelly Roll Rock and one named Jelly Roll Romp. They are both in the database. They are half brothers. I know the names are similar but there is so much furor, sometimes, caused by inarticulation, or downright stupidity, that it is usually best to check facts before posting flames.

I wasn't posting a flames at all. I was asking a question. I had a pm saying that she had posted that he was dead. But obviously that is not the same horse, if he did have a half brother. I thought it might have been a typo. So maybe Jelly Roll Romp is still alive after all??? :D

Correct, two separate horses.

One bay, one grey.
Racing and retraining.

Sorry I guess my eyes just saw that and assumed it was Romp! So yes it appears he has not been reported as dead after all.

He was listed as deceased by Gerry on a post on COTH.

One stallions was euthanized at the farm along with 3 other horses. At least one was a broodmare, others unknown. Another stallion was in bad shape and taken to (Cornell??) Univ. I don't know if he was the horse that died after the horses were seized or not. The rest of the stallions were taken to another farm. Not sure who all was left except Dunsinyne as I think she had another one listed as dead and sold at least one prior to all this. I'm afraid that Dunny is one of the dead ones, I hope that isn't true.

does anyone know for sure if dunsynine was one of the horses euthanized or found dead?

Only names released (of dead) are the broodmares Lipstick Kiss and the other one, We We C or something like that. Those were released by the owners. I'm not holding out much hope though and will only wish to be pleasantly surprised when the names are released. :(

"Just an update

I emailed the SPCA looking for a stallion that was given to Geri. Fini Cassette, bay approx 17 yrs old. She was given this stallion and promised a good home. I am frantic to find him as I was going to get him but we already have a stud and hubby didn't want another. Now we are kicking ourselves. The lady in the email said they are still having trouble id'ing horses and finding owners. So if anyone has pics or knows of someone that may have a horse there please tell them to contact them. There is a email link on the SPCA website. She also said they are trying to get a list together to post.

I am so glad that I did not sell her my mare and foal when she contacted me. I guess for once I am glad I was out of someones price range and didn't budge."

In case anyone needs the info, the email address that FL SPCA set up specifically for the horses is [email protected] and their website is www.fingerlakesspca.org.

I have heard Jelly will be in KY for 2009, his owner is from FLorida. I haven't been able to reach him. Does anyone know if this is true?

He's alive but don't know if he has plans or not. He was in a foster home with some others.
