Wanted: A Girlfriend For Basket Weave

Thought I would start looking now. Would like to lease/buy a graded stakes producer with Swaps close up. Lease is probably what we would have to do as I don't think we can afford to buy unless it was an older mare. I will be eyeballing the sales this fall/winter so if someone sees one that fits please let me know. The object is to breed her to Basket Weave who will be 26 next year and still doing great, with the intent to get a colt that could possibly be good enough to take his place. Well, he wouldn't be able to take his place, no horse on earth can do that, however, Basket Weave has no breeding son that I know of to carry on for him. There is one but he isn't breeding very many and the owner is keeping him close to the cuff. It would be a shame not to have one.

sprinkle a little Bull Lea in with that swaps if you get the opportunity.

She is very old, but if you want to try it we have an old graded stakes producer that we are trying to give away. Her name is Sonori, her second dam is by Swaps (a 1/2 sister to No Robbery) and her best runners were inbred to Swaps.

Thank you so much for the offer. However, she is a 1980 model which would make her 27 next year and that is getting a little risky. She would be 28 when she foaled and I don't know of any mares that have foaled at the age of 28. She deserves to take life easy at her age. I wouldn't want to put that much stress on her at this stage in her life.
