He isn't going to be standing in a stall or staring at the track. He's going home to the farm for as long as he's comfortable.

He is going to the track for his final days. When the time comes he will be euthanized there, and once cremated will be buried at the farm where he was born. He loves his stall at the track, that is his home. Mr. Aleo just has to cross the Golden Gate Bridge to see his racing star in his final days . . . . . . God bless Mr. Aleo in these trying times.

All I'm saying is I think Foggy would enjoy it and it may comfort Mr. Aleo to have a Foggy Jr. or two.
Is it about the owners convienence of visiting him or the horses happiness?

I know we all like to play fantasy stallion manager and trainer and owner but really, this is one of those decisions that only gets to be made by Aleo and should be respected as such.

One of the purposes of a forum like this is to offer our opinion on different things, of course it is the owners decision only. To respect his choice is optional. One thing I know is a horse would rather be grazing in a cool grassy field more than a stall at the track especially with some company .They are herd animals you know.

Yes we all know that horses are herd animals.

But don't you think that to Lost in the Fog his herd is his human family and his pony and his barnmates . . . . . . . . . I do.

He could breed to Southern Hemisphere time and continue the line down there and who knows ? it may just make its way back up here again. If the little guy feels up to it why not let him alone with a mare or two in the short time he has left?

Do we know that much about this type of equine cancer? My fear would be that it would turn out to be heritable.

IMO, the best thing to do is to let him go in peace, among those he loves, with no difference in his life to stress him.

Since some are so concerned about him reproducing lets just step it up a notch and clone the poor horse, heck they are doing it to everything now! Let him go in peace surrounded by those who love him. Im sure he wont be forgotten.

he is dying, he is not going to cover mares, that would be cruel.
