incorrect record

Postby Toccet02 » Tue Aug 29, 2006 12:05 pm

http://www.pedigreequery.com/ko+punch

this record is wrong.
He did not start 35 times.
There is a correct record elsewhere. (under k.o. punch not ko punch)
Can someone delete?
Thanks!

Actually, that whole thing needs to be deleted since that is not how his name is spelled. It's K. O. Punch, not K.O. Punch.

The system ignores periods so the one you want is K O Punch.

CRAP ... about a dozen foals tagged to that too.

and his best-known daughter . . .?

Postby Toccet02 » Tue Aug 29, 2006 12:54 pm

Thanks guys.
While we're on the subject, anyone know what happened to Sugar Punch?

I saw K. O. Punch at Hopewell last June (05).
He looked great in the shoulders...and FWIW they said he was "real stupid about his head" meaning certain stimulous like rain, flies, etc. around his ears and eyes made him very hyper and iritated.

Was this (the deletion) something I could have done myself? My impression was only certain senior members could delete/edit horses with progeny. If I'm wrong, please excuse the apparent laziness.

You can do it. There is a dropdown function titled "maintenance" where you can edit records and add/delete horses.

Before you delete a horse, you have to flip any progeny to the correct spelling and delete any information that is in the wrong record.

Thanks ladies. :D

The misspelling has been locked in sans parents and with a note pointing to the correct entry, so we souldn't encounter that problem again.

As Sam mentioned, you could have fixed it in this case (assuming you wanted to, of course!) - but there are other times when a horse with more than three progeny can't be edited, except by members of the research group. Feel free to holler if you ever bump into that one.
