Blacktype Rules

Postby majxmom » Sun Sep 10, 2006 9:42 am

Can anyone help me understand this?

Several years ago I purchased a filly named Dance With Me Papa. At the time, her catalog page listed her half-sister, You Beautiful Doll, as a Gr. 1 winner in Mexico for the Clasico Malinche race. Now the more recent foals from this family that come up for auction only list You Beautiful Doll in blacktype, but not as a graded stakes winner.

Now, I guess that means that the race has been downgraded since my filly's catalog (from Gr. 1 to ungraded?), but I've never paid attention to this situation before. For instance, the Apple Blossom was a Grade 1, and then it was a Grade 2. Doesn't it seem fair that horses be listed under the grade in which they participated? Does anyone know what the blacktype rules policy is on races which have changed their grade? Thanks!
