Derby/Oaks double

Postby wallinga » Tue May 01, 2007 9:33 pm

With Rags To Rich's probably going to start pretty short in the oaks, a bit more money can be made with a double. Who is everyones Oaks-Derby double? One horse in each and why?

I like Rags To Riches in the oaks on past performances, breeding, trainer (and a damn lucky owner).

In the derby I'm going with Nobiz (there are a host of others I guess I could put in) I've just had a feeling about him since the Holy Bull, he's bred for the distance, he's a beautiful type and Barclay Tagg seems to genuinely rate him. Plus he offers a little more value than the two short ones (Curlin and Street Sense)

Octave -- I like her

Zanjero -- just a feeling

(Which is why I came home $4 more broke from Lexington - didn't go with my feelings and bet trying to actually handicap!)
