Ashford Fees Announced
They are on their website as following:
Chapel Royal $10K
Dehere $17.5K
Fu Peg $45K
Giant's Causeway $125K
Grand Slam $35K
Johannesburg $65K
Lion Heart $20K
Powerscourt $7.5K
Royal Academy $15K
Scat Daddy $30K
Tale Of The Cat $37.5K
Thunder Gulch $20K
Van Nistelrooy $25K
If they are gonna stand Giant's Causeway for that, they might as well move him to Europe where turf racing rules.
Dehere, Grand Slam and Royal Academy stick out as luke warm values.
I feel Fu Peg's fee is absurd! But what do I know!

Van Nistlerooy's success was mainly due to the fact that he has something like twice as many 2 year olds running than his competitors.
Well put..... and with that.... nothing to see here so moving right along.....
These BIG farms offer NOTHING in the way of value and I'm continually left scratching my head as to just who is paying these ridiculous fees? More often then not people are drawn to the races through the gambling aspect intent on "beating the odds". Yet, when they decide to become an owner or breeder all they learned about "value" as a handicapper is left behind. I've always wanted to win whenever I go the track and still do today... same holds true in raising and racing horses but that seems lost on the vast majority for whatever reason.

But Georgerz has been tying to convince me what a great sire he is.
What synthetics are to California racing:
Where did Mull Of Kintyre & Monashee Mountain go??
forget that... Mull Of Kintrye is going to California...
great.. I have mares in foal to a KY reject!
You would think that California would get tired of the sub par Kentucky rejects. I have a feeling he's going to go the Gentlemen route, so they should get him a direct flight to Louisiana and save some shipping costs.

California should thank their lucky stars. Mull is a decent sire

Agreed. He's a magnificent horse and if I were a three year old filly, I think Aragorn would be on a poster on my wall.

MOK

According to Equineline thru 10/29/07 MOK has 528 foal of R.A. w/257 starters (49%), 106 winners (20%), 4 stakes winners lifetime (1%), win percentage 10%, placings 17%, for a total of 27% in th money lifetime (among the lowest I've seen).
Granted he was standing in Europe, but his lifetime avg. per starter is $13,564, per start $1,724, and median earnings of $2,091! Half of those starters have earned roughly 2 grand or less.
MOK's AEI is .80 vs .96
I would love to see a nice son of Danzig come to Ca., but those numbers look abysmal. He's had some success in Europe w/horses like Araafa (Ireland) & Vision of Flight (Australia). He did get 68 mares this year, so he must be a pretty nice individual, but thus far with 257 starters, his numbers are clearly sub par. His 2006 ABC APEX (avg. progeny earning index) is .87 and midyear 2007 it's .75.

But Fastappy - California already has Before The Bell. The $1,600 he earned on the track is $1,600 more than a lot of sires in your state. Stop being greedy!
