Should be a pretty awesome race... There are so many ways this could go; you've got the talented but lightly raced, the foreign mystery horse, the hard-knocking perpetual bridesmaid, and the speed with stamina concerns-- all the classic archetypes!
I'll take a blind stab at it and go with
Big Brown
Elysium Fields
Tomcito

Your welcome Lou.
Did not see Edgar Prado w/a mount in this one. Interesting training strategies between Fierce Wind and Smooth Air. I'll go with Smooth Air in this one. Can't remember the last time I picked a winner. I'd like to see Tomcito make the graded earning cut so they'll be compelled to go in the Derby. I'll be looking for him when he makes the turn for home!

I do kinda agree with you... I figure he's either gonna clean up Curlin-style or finish nowhere; I don't see him coming in second or third. Generally I hate going for horses like him, who are that lightly run, but from everything I've heard, he has some monster talent.
In any case, I'm not putting any money on this race because it could go so many ways.

Majestic Warrior, Elysium Fields or Fierce Wind. I like Big Brown for a longer distance.

Pretty interesting bunch of 3 yolds. Tomcito trains like a good horse. Perhaps he's the modern day Canonero II. Fierce Wind is sharp. Elysium Fields looks like a horse just getting good.
I'll bet Big Brown. He might be something special. Dutrow is awfully high on him and he knows a good horse when he sees one.

Tomcito isn't such a longshot as one might think. He's by Street Cry. He's actually run at and beyond the Derby distance and has tons more racing experience than Big Brown even if Peruvian racing is poor quality. He's also been doing mile works. When's the last time we saw that? Also he's run on dirt, and frankly I think that's beginning to be a big deal as we have about half the horses on all the Derby Dozens who'll never see a speck of track without a bit of old tire in it until they actually get to Churchill Downs.
