Opinions - NY Bred TB stallion 'Ham Sandwich'

Postby windham » Thu Jan 06, 2005 1:40 pm

Hello All - I have purchased a NY bred TB stallion named 'Ham Sandwich' by Halissee out of Dana's Wedding by Compliance. He won $187,637 on turf tracks. I'm going to use him in my sporthorse breeding program for H/J prospects. I'm amazed at how awesome this guys temperament is and his conformation is near perfect. He carries the Caro, Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer & Double Jay lines to mention a few.

My question: Does he have any value for race breeding? All thoughts welcome. TIA

Looking at his immediate pedigree and race record, he's probably more valuable as a sporthorse sire; his female family is pretty modest, and his sire isn't going to ring any bells as a "sire of sires," though he was a nice turf runner. Glad your horse didn't get the Compliance temperament.

you bought ham sandwich??? You are so lucky, hes such a nice horse and very muched liked in NY. This to me is strange because last i heard he was RETIRED and enjoying life, i had no clue he was for sale. Good luck with him, he was a good runner on the turf!
