Honour And Glory's possible record

Postby oliverstoned » Wed Oct 22, 2008 7:49 am

Has a stallion with that low of an AEI (1.12) ever produced so many offspring (1,400)? I mean I'm all for keeping that sireline going and really like Put it Back, but DAAAAMMMMNNN.

Don't get me wrong I don't think he's Buddha bad (the horse) I just think the world doesn't need 1400+ of them.

Honour and Glory is actually a decent sire. Its hard to evaluate a horses true production abilty when they start @ Ashford & book so many mares. I believe with a more controlled book of mares that truely fit H&G his % of stakes winners from foals & AEI would be on par with the upper % of stallions now standing. It would be interesting to just look @ his South American stats & compare on what he maybe could have been if he started @ a farm that had those intrests in mind.

Those figures would also include the foals that he had in Australia when he shuttled there, and also in Argentina.

Speaking of Buddha, any opinions as to why he hasn't turned out to be such a good sire?
