I saw that too. I've never heard of any such thing. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has. :?

it may be possible with bastard strangles, or purpura hemmorgecia (sp?). The infection is inside the body with this type of strangles, and does not abscess at the throat like normal strangles. The strangles basically festers inside the body, so if the infection settled in a joint it could cause lameness or an awkward gait.
