Afleet Alex
Saw a real nice son of Afleet Alex break his maiden yesterday. His name is Sway Away, a 2yold out of an unraced Seattle Slew mare. Won at first asking. This is a real nice one trained by Jeff Bonde.

I think afleet alex is going to be alot like seeking the gold. really really solid but always overlooked by tapit and m d'oro.
he will definatly get his fair share of classic winners when it's all said and done.
i love sw btw. that is a runner.

Zinn21, that was one tough race! You had an Offlee Wild, Stormin Fever, Najran, Hold That Tiger, Roman Ruler, and the Afleet Alex at a MSW fair meet. Very nice to see. The winner is black type material, for sure.

Appy, I would love to see Bonde go old school with this colt. Give him a breather rather than run in BC Juvenile. I think he could be Bonde's best hope ever for a "Classics" horse. Jeff has something to prove as a trainer IMO. Remember they took Spain from Bonde and she became a monster under Lucas.

Coincidentally, I was talking to his brother Gary a month ago when the subject of Spain came up. It's good to see Jeff has been getting some good ones of late as he's always been very tough to beat with his juveniles, whether it's up here or down south.
I like your idea of nursing the horse along for his 3 year old year as we know the two year olds that are drilled seldom hang around. That's why I'm amazed at "Lookin At Lucky". He must be an Iron Horse considering Baffert's regimen.

He is a real exception. I would love to see Bonde run Sway Away in the Hollywood Juvenile, a prep for the Del Mar Futurity, the DM Futurity then shut him down until winter Santa Anita. This colt has the goods to be a classic horse but will never make it unless he gets a breather for musculoskeletal structure recovery..
