"Some people pick a horse based on their name. Wait until you hear this race call by Monmouth Park track announcer Larry Collmus on Sunday, August 22, 2010 when the #3 horse Mywifenosevrything battles with the #7 Thewifedoesntknow."

I happened to catch this race and the pre-race 'picks' discussion on TVG and one of their commentators said he'd definitely had to go with the 'swami angle' of picking both these horses one-two/two/one. The race caller did a great job with the race as it unfolded. Turns out "the swami" was spot on! Everyone was cheering for these two to make it to the lead and then the place position as they entered the stretch and to hang on to it all the way to the finish! The two horses paid a good price for those who didn't think the coincidence of their unusual naming to be too good to be true.

Now that was funny! What we put the race callers through with our names.

This race call made Good Morning America this morning.
I was very amused by a more subtle one a while back: A bitter stretch duel between Nunnery and Fairy Princess.
All shouting does is make you lose your voice.

It made the Today Show this morning as well.

Another favorite race finish was that stakes race in So Cal a few years ago, when the tri was Behaving Badly, Miss Terrible, and Leave Me Alone.
