maybe his first crop will be better as 3 YO but I can't see him remaining at $20k

Darley has lowered his stud fee to $15,000 for 2012.

In my opinion he has been a huge disappointment. His yearlings generally looked athletic & sound - no big knock your eyes out yearlings but good individuals. He should be standing for $5,000 SN.
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.
