I'll Have Another's stud fee for 2013

Is the equivalent to $38,900.
Priced right? What are your thoughts? Could he have stood for that here? Would people have been interested in him?

Thats roughly what Empire Maker stands for in Japan also and he covered over 200 mares last year.

Crazy that both were allowed to leave and Summer Bird and Lion Heart the list goes on.......

To answer your question, my opinion is NO. He doesnt have the kind of pedigree that most U.S. breeders are looking for, and his conformation is a bit suspect based on his sales prices.

As we all know the Japanese closed their horse industry to outsiders decades ago and are only now beginning to allow a few foreigners (e.g. Sheikh Mo) to breed and race there on a limited basis. We're so accustomed to welcoming other countries to our market system that it's almost incomprehensible that an accomplised nation like Japan still protects itself from competition.
