You have a good memory Wilf.
Flashy Bull, though didn't win the Derby, he turned out alright :D

I don't know if Shakin It Up is KY Derby material, but I definitely liked the look of him yesterday.

I agree, Cree, about the Derby distance. I think he is more of a miler, maybe 9f horse. But....who would have thought that his Dad, Midnight Lute, would be a sprinter...being by a Derby/Preakness and almost a Belmont winner.

Govenor Charlie also won last weekend and both he and Shakin It Up are o/o Silverbulletday mares. Inbreeding to Deputy Minister might be an emerging good cross.

Well, I still like this horse :-) Very pleased with his win today in the Malibu. Definitely thinks he likes that distance. :D

Hi Cree,
Hope you did well with him, big price! Baffert strikes again...first and fourth. Bakken finished fifth...guess not so bad considering shipping cross country, stepping way up and stretching out. Then again, why did he make this trip with 3 strikes against him before the gate opened? The way he was lugging in through the lane, he may need some time off? Shakin it Up received a 106 beyer for his effort.....race below. TJ

His sire (MIDNIGHT LUTE) was a very special racehorse
who is unfolding as a very auspicious sire (well, that's another topic)

And as expected, his stud fee reflects his success. Out of range for us now. Just glad to have a filly by him though.
