Corfu Retired

Corfu's connections were expected to run him in the Hutchinson Feb 1st after working 1/26 in company with Trail Blaze at Palm Meadows, have had a change of heart.

He will instead be going to Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Florida to stand the 2014 breeding season. Now that's a happy horse and the fastest stud deal I ever saw:>) TJ

He didn't have a bad time either from what I remember about the work. I'm guessing a problem revealed itself later. You'd think if he pulled up lame it would've gotten out. It's hard to think it wouldn't be due to unsoundness. Some sort of tendon injury? I'd be surprised they wouldn't give him time off to recover unless it was something where he might not be 100% in the clear for sure even if he did get a year off, i.e. a tendon problem.

I don't see any major draw to him as a stallion, except he was an expensive 2-year-old in training and he won early.

I saw him sell and I thought he was a magnificent looking horse. Shame that he didn't accomplish more.
