Researching Name from Tattoo Number

Hello all, and *HELP*!!

I purchased an OTTB last year and am simply trying to find out his registered name and birth date. His tattoo is very legible and reads :"B14962".

*** Edited to add:
He is a chestnut gelding, no white markings... Apparently he is rising 7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can get it from www.equineline.com. It will cost you either $35 or $50 depending on the search type you choose. That's how I ended up getting info on my first OTTB. The B as the 1st digit agrees with the age you mention (1998). Good luck!
