What price do the weanlings usually sell for? I'm looking at some in session 12, and just wondered what they could go for. Thanks!

In the past couple of years, weanling prices have run the gamut from 1K to mid-six figures so there's really no way to make a prediction. You can look up results and see how the weanlings that were entered in session twelve sold last year on the Keeneland site at www.keeneland.com

Hi Megan,

Hard question to answer. As LSB says - wide range of price.

Some stallions, like Meadowlake, get big, good looking youngsters and his weanling average is close to his yearling average. Others are the opposite (weanlings sell very cheap).

You might also wish to consider the Keeneland January sale and look at new yearlings, often still too immature to bring yearling prices, you have 2 more months of development in them.

Good luck,

Pete
