13 yo STKs winning Kris S Stallion
Located in Northern NY this stakes winning son of Kris S has fallen on hard times. He is currently living in a field with cows and eating silage. The owner has little money and said he would take any reasonable offer. His dam is also a stakes winner and his dams sister produced Sweetsouthernsaint. He is doing OK now but he had a difficult winter. I would be willing to provide reduced shipping to anyone who can save this once proud stallion. Interested parties call me (Scott) at 518-891-3532 and I will put you in touch with the owner.
Is it Dunsinyne? What is the horse's name, or his dam? Sweet Tri?

I hope you don't mind, but I re-posted this post on The Chronicle of the Horse Forums. I would love to be able to post some pics of this very deserving boy. Any other info about him? What is the owner selling him for? (price range) There are a couple of contacts on the forums that might be able to help.
Thanks

I'm trying not to cry. Seriously.
I can't really do anything at that price (I'd have been stretched to try and help him at $1,000).
I've emailed a couple of people, but it looks like one or two people on the CotH board are going after him too. He's only 13, this ain't right.
Kris S stallion
For what it's worth, I guess I'm one of those people actually going after him. [I posted on the COTH board, too.]
It makes me crazy to think any horse who gave that much, is where this one is. Anyhow, keep a good thought for this guy. Nothing is certain, and yes -- I'm STILL wondering if poor as I am, am I still a prime candidate for president of the more-money-than-brains club? [how bad would THAT be -- little money, fewer brains?].
No one knows whether he can maybe breed & help recoup the cost. It's all a risk. [Are there even many people who breed to unproven stallions who were pretty good turf horses in their day?]
But I'll let you know IF it turns out. [And if someone else steps up & gives him a good home, first, I'll cheer you on!]

It's amazing that an unwanted animal turns into an expensive asset when good people get involved, echos the crowley post.
Since the owner is not taking care of this horse I would offer them 500 ransom fee. I would suspect his feet are unkept, shots are needed, and probably coggins before he could even be legally moved. If they did not take it I would call state/county animal control and report the horse's condition. Might provide the motivation owner needs to get out of the horse business.
I would inquire about JC papers too. No doubt the horse is JC registered, but is this the original owner, were papers signed to them or sent back to Jockey Club etc.

KBEquine, el camino, et al, if there's anything I can do to help this guy out, let me know. i may have someplace to stash him for a few days, if that's needed, although i wouldn't be able to keep him for any extended period, as much as i would like to. i love my roberto-bred mare, so would be more than willing to help this guy out.
