1 Jun 1838 - 4m heats Jockey Club Purse New York in 7:40, the second best 4 miles ever recorded in America
30 of his victories were at 4-mile heats. He was considered the greatest horse of his day, and was campaigned all over the country, meeting with almost universal success until his match race with Fashion. Although he raced before the introduction of modern stakes racing, he was unquestionably of stakes quality and a great champion.
One of America's first great racehorses.
Although he lost his first race due to his irascible temperament, over the next five years Boston won 36 of 37 races
Inducted into Hall of Fame in 1955.
Leading sire in 1841, 1842, 1843. Died Jan. 31, 1850. For more information see Boston
