| Breeder: Anthony Leedes
Dam of Fox, winner of King's Plates Newmarket and Lewes (1720) and King's Plate Newmarket (1721) and Champion Sire in Great Britain in 1731 and 1735; and of Basto, winner of a number of matches at Newmarket and sire of Sister to Soreheels, dam of Crab (King's Plate winner 1729 and Champion Sire 1748, 1749, 1750), [Devonshire] Blacklegs (Champion Sire 1746), Snip (sire of 4 times Champion Sire Snap), and King's Plate winners Second and Puff; Old Ebony; and of a number of broodmares who bred on including Brown Betty, Old Coquette and Sister to Old Coquette
The GSB says that Bay Peg is sired by Leedes Arabian, who also sired her dam. However, the diary of John Hervey, Earl of Bristol, who visits the Leedes stud in 1705, says the sire of Bay Peg is Young Spanker. Given this near contemporaneous source and the close inbreeding in the GSB pedigree, she may be sired by Young Spanker, but Hervey may be referring to a different bay colour horse called Peg
