The GSB states Heneage's Jigg (half brother to Whitenose) is sired by [Halifax] Goliah (which was foaled in 1722). This is impossible as Heneage's Jigg ran 2nd in a race at Alford, Lincolnshire on 3 June 1728, when he would have been aged at least 5.
Cheny's Racing Calendar 1744 says "Silvertail was got by the late Mr. Heneage's White-Nose. White-Nose, which was out of the Dam of his Brown Horse called Jigg, Son of Old Jigg, and the Hall Arabian.
A stallion advert for Heneage's Jigg (London Evening Post 6 February 1735) also confirms his sire was Jigg by the Byerley Turk, and says his dam was by the Curwen Bay Barb, which mare would therefore also be dam of Whitenose.
Some of the above is based on research by Highflyer, although he believes that Heneage Jigg's sire is a son of [Old] Jigg, although the documentary evidence does not appear to state this.
