He has only one recorded progeny, the Whiteshirt Mare, through which all of Family 12 descends other than the main trunk of the family and branch 12-g
However, mtDNA analysis has shown that Family 12 is a conflation of four different founder mares, and proves that the Whiteshirt Mare is not, as attributed by the GSB, a half sister to Mother Western (grandam of Eclipse), a sibling relationship which anyway is impossible from the respective foaling dates of the Whiteshirt Mare (1670c) and Mother Western (1731)
