Her pedigree is unknown but Fairfax Harrison describes her as a "consistent winner of Fifties [value of races] for Galloways".. She was imported into Virginia in 1748 by Joseph Morton along with [Morton's] Traveller.
Her maternal line became extinct in the 1980s
4th dam of Commutation, the sire of an unnamed mare which is the grandam of 1) the outstanding racehorse and sire Sir Charles (20 victories from 26 career starts, mostly in the highest class, Leading Sire in North America 1830, 1831, 1832, 1833, 1836); and of 2) Janette, winner of top class races in 1826;
and 4th dam of Page's Boxer, the sire of Tayloe's Mendoza, the sire of Wild Medley, which was the sire of Ophelia, 4th dam of the great racehorse and outstanding sire Hanover (winner of 32 of 50 starts including a run of 17 consecutive wins, his victories including 1887 Belmont, Brooklyn Derby [Dwyer Stakes], Champion Stakes, Leading Sire in North America 1895, 1896, 1897, 1898)
