A rags-to-riches horse, Mr Worton bought him for 300 guineas out of the Brockhurst Plate, and he went on to become a crowd favorite, earning over £12,000. Retired immediately after winning the 1897 Coronation Cup carrying 38lbs more than 2nd-place finisher Chasseur.
Destroyed at Burnaby House, Lambourn, after an attack of paralysis, on June 22, 1904.
