Said to have been purchased from the King of Sinna in Arabia Felix [Yemen] and brought to England by Mr Phillips, who had been despatched to purchase horses by the Earl of Northumberland, in whose stud he stood as a private stallion until 1766, then covered at Edward Rookes Leedes' North Milford stud for a fee of 5 guineas from 1767 until his death in around 1778
He got over a dozen known offspring and a number of them were winners, although they were generally of Fifty class, although Philippo won the King's Plate at Carlisle in 1772
