broodmare needs a home

My husband passed away this past spring. I have no income other than insurance and no prospects for any in the near future. I have a very nice mare that hasn't been bred for the past several years. She would make a very nice babysitter and could probably be bred again. She's had very nice foals. I r...

One one of the talk shows a few months back, there was a guy whose skin and hair had turned blue from using colloidal silver. This was a permanent change of color for the poor guy.

Actually, I think I heard this may be the last sale, or next to the last. I don't think they bred any mares this year.

I can't believe she's not going to get some jail time. This wasn't just neglect, it was intentional abuse. ***edited

I'm so sorry about your mare. It hurts us so much when we think we're doing the right thing for our horses and find out far too late that we put them in harm's way. I can only hope that karma returns the "favor" to them 10 fold!

Why only 5 counts of cruelty???? There were 82 horses there. Just because only 4 or 5 of them had to be euthanized it doesn't mean she was any less "cruel" to the rest of them!

I, for one, can hardly WAIT to hear the other side of the story! Some things are truly hard to forgive, especially when the offending party obviously can't see what it's doing wrong and hasn't asked for forgiveness. It would seem that this has happened before by the same person. Once, maybe (and tha...

Springboro, I can only wonder if YOU were one of the owners who was dutifully paying your board every month, thinking your animal was at this fine breeding farm being well taken care of and you learned that one of your mares was so starved and ill with feet full of abscesses so she was in too much p...

Please do NOT lump me in the "she's one of us" category. Not in this lifetime nor the next! Let's see, the horses look to be in similar condition to the victims of the World War II concentration camps to compare this to a human context. I believe some of their excuses were "we were just following or...

I just cannot comprehend how ANYONE can do this. Bad enough when people let their own animals starve, but to starve paying customers' horses...........they said at least a third were boarders, so figure around 27 or 28 horses were paying customers. Some weren't paying their board. o.k. so let's say ...

What if we cut off drugs?

They could phase in drug free racing. Start the year with banning any drugs for 2 year olds. If you already need drugs for a young healthy 2 year old, perhaps they shouldn't be racing that young. How many first time starters are running on lasix??? I've seen 2 year old maiden races where 13 out of 1...

BRAVO! I've pretty much thought the suspensions to be a joke - not only can they turn the "responsibilities" over to their assistants ( who were not issued the stalls and are paid by the suspended party, DUH!) but they can also choose WHAT DATES they take their suspension. Geez Louise. I can hardly ...

If I remember correctly, X-tra Heat sold for only $5000. because she had ocd lesions in both stifles. Obviously never bothered her any.....! I think it can depend on where it's located and how bad.
