mtDNA evidence has shown that her supposed daughters Cream Cheeks and Betty Percival do not share a common ancestor, so were from different dams. The DNA evidence is supported by the stud book of Cuthbert Routh which says Cream Cheeks is out of "a famous roan mare of Sr. [Sir] Mar. [Marmaduke] Wyvill's". The descendants of Cream Cheeks have a different haplotype from any horse so far DNA tested
The DNA result means that, unless Charming Jenny was the same horse as Wyvill's Roan Mare and also Betty Percival was not out of Charming Jenny, which is possible but unlikely, all of Cream Cheeks's descendants should be removed from Family 6,
including Flying Childers, Bartlet's Childers, Sorcerer and Priam
Even with the removal of Cream Cheeks' progeny from her descendants, Charming Jenny is still one of the most important broodmares in the GSB, as she is dam of the important sires Leedes and Jigg, the latter of which continued the Byerley Turk sire line; and of Betty Percival, ancestress of Diomed
