| Breeder: James Darcy, the younger
Sire of 1) the 4th dam of top class racehorse Black Chance - King's Plates Guildford, Salisbury, Winchester, Lewes and Lincoln [1738]; of Moorcock - multiple good class winner; and of Phantom - King's Plates York and Lincoln [1743]; and 2) [Kit] Darcy's Royal Mare, dam of Old Royal, sire of high class racehorse Bald Charlotte - King's Plate [mares] Hambleton [1726] and King's Plate [mares] Newmarket and King's Plate Winchester [1727]
The GSB says Darcy's Royal Mare is the dam of [Sir Ralph] Milbanke's Black Mare, but pedigree certificates for the horse Creeper (1716) given by James Darcy, the younger,
state Milbanke's Black Mare is a half sister to Darcy's Royal Mare, not her daughter, both being out of Grey Royal. Removal of Milbanke's Black Mare (ancestress of the great racehorse and sire Highflyer) from the descendants of the offspring of Blunderbuss reduces his legacy to the breed
