He was imported into America in 1816 by American Consul Charles D. Coxe, with the special permission of the Bey of Tunis. He stood the 1820 season in Cincinnati, Ohio
He sired several winners, including Bey of Tunis and Mahomet, but his only enduring legacy was an unnamed mare which continued the maternal lineage of American Family A89, the line surviving until the 1990s
