The English and French classic winners produced by Family 31 are Ruler (1780 St Leger); Canezou (1848 1000 Guineas); Fazzoletto (1856 2000 Guineas); Lion (1856 Prix du Jockey Club); and Boiard (1873 Prix du Jockey Club, Prix Royal Oak, 1874 Ascot Gold Cup), the last-named the best racehorse produced by the family
