We have this filly listed for sale, but she's a bit of a hard sell due to a leg scar and her non-Indiana bred status. If nobody wants her for open racing, riding, or breeding by about March or so, we'll likely breed her ourselves. She will be a 3 year old in 2008 so she'd be a 4 year old when she foaled.
I acutally think she's bred very well; by NO means is she some junk horse that I'll breed if I can't find anything else to do with. Perhaps being a broodmare is her calling anyway... who knows. It would be nice if she could race first, but we have a whole slew of Indiana bred/sired horses that we need to concentrate our training funds on, since they will not only support our stallion better, but will also allow us the opportunity to run for higher purses AND partake in breeders awards.
Anyway, she's by Indy Mood, who is a son of A.P. Indy out of a Champion-producing In Reality mare. I've been told by many who are "in the know" that he has "to die for broodmare sire blood." Her dam, Mo's Miracle, is unraced due to the owner's financial situation; she is sound and without conformation issues, they just did not have the funds to ever even get her broke so we'll never know what talent she might have had. Mo's Miracle is by Cat's Career, so Beulah was bred on the "A.P. Indy - Mr. P." nick. Her damline traces directly to the 1975 Eclipse Champion 2 YO filly Dearly Precious.
OBVIOUSLY breeding this one in-house is not an option.... yuk. So, if we do decide to breed her, we have to look past the driveway.
Thoughts and suggestions, anyone?
