I too suck at names that is why I don't name mine - although I was thinking about naming my Lion Heart filly. Dam is African Skyline so I was thinking about the song "Lion Sleeps Tonight" and I thought - ohhhh - I'll name her "Aweemawac" :) Probably not!

Good luck with a name though!

Interesting Freudian slip on your mis-spelling of DAM as DAMN!
Welcome to the forum, Barebckrider! You'll have more of a feel for the appearance and personality of your anticipated foal after he/she arrives and begins to have behaviors. That's a good time to think of a name.

I find it just about impossible to produce an appropriate name for a foal, sight-unseen.

I just thought if I sold her the new owner would want to name her - of course they could always change it right?

When I was thinking about it I thought okay - African Heart, African Lion, Skyline Heart - you know the basic name combos and then I was driving in the car and I heard the song and I thought - oh that would be a great name for a foal!!!

I love Aweemawac! (I think my favourite version of that song is by the Nylons)

The vote here goes to Timon and Pumba as well. Has anyone seen the game where the lion sings that song? My daughters have it, and the youngest carries the lion around pushing his head down so he will sing. Has to be a favorite here as well... :D

I think it is a really cute name....Aweemawac.

I haven't the foggiest who Timon and Pumba are... I guess you can tell I don't have kids! (the two legged kind, anyway!)
