How good is this horse going to get? At a mile on the turf who is really better right now?

Bayeux for one.

Leparoux is a God at Turfway Park, but Bayeux should have won that race easily.

Note the final quarter mile and how he cut into the leaders. Monster effort.

Bayeux ran a super race, no question. However, he encountered no traffic trouble. He had a clear path to the finish line. He should have won the race. But he didn't. The horse that won had just enough of "whatever" to take the race.

Kip Deville may not be as good as I think he is going to be. But then again he may just be.

The debate on this one will be settled in the future. Hopefully they meet again soon.

Kip Deville is a very talented horse. His run in the Colonial Cup last year was unlike anything I've ever seen.

And score one for the East Coast. Beating the California horses on their own turf is no small task.

Actually Kip Deville is an Oklahoma-bred. He started at Sam Houston, moved to Lone Star, and was sold there to the owners in the east.

I think he more than likely is the best Oklahoma-bred running. If he keeps it up, maybe the best OK-bred.

Not sure who that would be now, maybe Brother Brown?

Ok, East Coast trainer, Oklahoma horse.

I remember Brother Brown...

My personal Favorite Oklahoma-bred was Silver Goblin!

Oh how quickly she's been forgotten...

Does the name Lady's Secret mean nothing to you two?

You had to trump my Silver Goblin!

(btw, that horse was so well-managed, rarely bit off more than he could chew and had a great career)

I've only been watching racing since the early '90s, so that's my excuse for not knowing Lady's Secret was an Okl-bred.

Lots of good Okie Breds Lady's Secret was the best I recall... then Clever Trevor then Silver Goblin. Of course on the QH side of things Easy Jet would be better then any of the TBs(he ran 27 times as a 2 year old including once as a yearling winning 23 races amongst which included: The All American Futurity and the Kansas Futurity).

Well, I have a vested intrest in this horse improving, so I do hope he carries on his merry way!
I love that people are so intent on the "juicing" theory where Dutrow is concerned, BUT when it comes to Lava Man and O'Neil it's blinkers on. Drug... excuse me... Doug is no saint remember that. He has his medical "downfalls" in this indutry as well...

I think it's sad that we can hardly discuss any horse without the implication that drugs are somehow involved.

Devil His Due - 40 of 41 races without drugs. Now we wait for someone to say he/she doesn't believe it.

Tucumcari...there are probably 50 trainers that can be named as juicers/potential juicers. I'm just saying at whatever Dutrow is doing, he's the best at hiding it.

If you get 4 aces once, you're lucky. If you get 4 aces twice, you're very lucky. If you get 4 aces three times, you're cheating. How many times does Dutrow wind up with 4 aces?
