Advice on a possible broodmare.
Im looking into getting a Thoroughbred mare in a weeks time at soonest. At the time being she will be a pleasure horse, but later as a possible broodmare. I am curious as to her value as a broodmare. Her name is Lady of the Cee. She did recently incure a bow, due to mishandling by a novice handler who allowed her to run loose on the track. The owner claimed the bow was minor and that she was sound. Im sure she will make a fine riding mare, at best a novice hunter. Its her bloodline that interests me more though. All advice appreciated.

Well, she's by Cee's Tizzy, who I really like as a sire (he consistently improves his mares), and Cee's Tizzy is, of course of the Man 'O War sire line through Relaunch and In Reality. Cee's Tizzy is the sire of two time Breeder's Cup Champion Tiznow and Budroyale among others. As a sire he has had a lot of success with broodmare sire Seattle Song, mainly through his daughter Cee's Song. Although he can certainly get the big horse, I believe he'd be considered more of a breed to race sire with a current stud fee of $7000.
Your mare is free, as far as I can see, from Mr. Prospector, Seattle Slew and Secretariat, and the only inbreeding I can find in the first five generations is a 5x5 to Court Martial.
I don't know much about the female family of your mare although the dam was clearly a hard knocking mare with durability and some success. That's good because Cee's Tizzy himself did not have many starts.
The broodmare sire line of the mare is the Princequillo line which is a stamina influence.
Many of Cee's Tizzy's successful progeny are inbred to Northern Dancer, so you might think about a Northern Dancer line sire for her. Also generally In Reality likes more In Reality so perhaps you could look at that as well (I believe that inbreeding to In Reality is most successful when it is sex balanced).
I daresay people will have lots of other suggestions, but if you decide to breed her (and she is lovely), I'd place some emphasis on a sire with some durability (i.e. soundness). I also wouldn't overbreed her, i.e. I wouldn't go very high for a stud fee because I have a feeling the offspring would not be highly commercial. So I would be thinking breed to race rather than breed to sell.
If you're thinking about breeding for a sporthorse - ignore all of the above.
