white tb filly
I had my first foal of 2007, and she's a white filly. (I thought I got all my color last year with that white filly.) I'll post some pictures as soon as possible - she was born at 7:30 pm tonight. Any suggestion on posting pix would be appreciated - I need to open a photobucket account...right?

"Red Hat Lady" - That is so fitting this filly's coloring....
As an aside at this year's Derby Day celebration at our local track (Sam Houston Race Park) the scene was absolutely dominated by a large group - I'm estimating more than 100 - of the "Red Hat Lady" ladies. They were all decked out in their over the top red hats and most wore purple oufits - some were even sashaying about in hoop skirts! The ladies were having a blast and believe me they made quite an impact whereever the 'red hat entourage' went that day = often to the betting windows to cash a ticket! Have to say I was a bit disappointed when they didn't return for the Preakness Day's events.....the track just wasn't near as colorful and frisky without them.
Really cute filly - I would love to see her again in a few months as her body fills out.

The two "fillies" in the last picture are one of my riding students and my 3 year old daughter. They looked so cute "riding around" in the arena. The older girl is one of the toughest 13 year old riders I have ever seen - she also helped me "lead out" that filly - she basically carried her out to the paddock since our little baby has a real mind of her own!
Thanks for all the great comments. She has been a ton of fun. The Illinois State inspector commented that I am batting 100% right now since I had a white filly last year and now this one. I am expecting another filly from Puchilingui later this spring/summer. Maybe it'll be white...... it will be fun to find out!
