Ivermectin Cattle Wormer Pour-On

A friend of mine said her vet told her she could use it for fly control on her horses. She swears it works. She applies it under the mane according to weight. Has anyone else used it in this manner, if so what were the results. Thanks for any input.

When Ivermectin first came out it was used topically for horses also. Somewhere along the line they decided it should not be used the same way for horses as cattle. I doubt it will cause any problem.
