Sightseeing will win the Travers. Write it down. Take a picture. Laugh. Whatever.
1) Street Sense is going to be an overlay of epic porportions.
2) Sightseeing has been pointed towards this race since MAY.
3) Street Sense's last race.. I don't care what you say about cranked, geared up, whatever.. was very, very unimpressive.. he almost got nipped by a inferior horse and had to have a perfect trip to win.
4) Sightseeing hasn't ran a bad race yet.
5) Shug Factor
I'm sad.. because in arkansas I can't bet on NYRA tracks. Because this will be a cash cow. If this were an allowence race and not a Grade 1 and the media had no idea who street sense was, he would be 5/2 with Sightseeing being 4 to 1.
but because the media is involved, he will be 2/5 and sightseeing will be 10 to 1.

Shug has pointed Sightseeing to this race since the Wood Memorial. Enough said.
Think about 1987, the best crop of three year olds since 1957. Alysheba, Bet Twice, Cryptoclearance......and then along came Java Gold. You think Mr Miller didn't know what he had?
Black and cherry will reign supreme.
Pletcher has done a fine job this year of holding his three year olds together for the Travers, huh? LMAO!!!!!!

she may very well be. Even as the best im wrong 60 percent of the time. Babe ruth lead the lead in home runs.. he also lead the league in strikeouts for 8 straight years
the difference between myself and most is I can stand being wrong from time to time. every time im wrong, it means i am closer to being right.
im all over this one however

You don't think Street Sense was being pointed to the Travers since his Triple Crown run ended in the Preakness? GIven they appear to have similar running styles, I can't see Sightseeing outrunning him down the stretch. If was a front-runner or something i could see it as there isn't much speed in this race, but I'd argue that 2/5 is probably fair odds for this race. They run this race 7 times, he'd win 5.

Why run the race? Inscribe Sightseeing's name on the trophy and don't waste two minutes out of Street Sense's life! From Blood-Horse:
McGaughey noted that since the Dwyer, Sightseeing has "definitely improved. And I liked what I saw in the Jim Dandy, especially when he galloped out. Since then, he’s done everything I’ve wanted him to do. He had a spectacular work August 19, and he galloped strong. The exercise rider had to pull him up.”
Sightseeing worked five furlongs in 1:00.88 at Saratoga Aug. 19 in his final prep for the Travers. Now, after skipping key races like the Derby and Belmont Stakes (gr. I), he may be sitting on the best effort of his 11-start career. The challenge is to make up two-and-a-half lengths to Street Sense from their only meeting.
“I know Shug, and I know how he puts things together,” said Nafzger. “His horse has always been right there, and he’s never given his big race. So he’s definitely due to make the effort.”
Shades of Pleasant Home! Enjoy the race from your living room, Pletcher!
