Mating Advice

Postby clh » Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:37 pm

Hi guys!

I'm going to start with the three mares I have now (and I'll keep my fingers crossed the two coming up in the sales sell).

Who do you recommend I breed the following to? We are breed to sell at this point in time.

Allou (Seattle Slew out of Fun Crowd (Easy Goer out of Populi) - she is currently in foal to Good Reward. Allou's Birdstone colt sold as a yearling for $225,000.00

Laird's Honor (Honor Grades out of Laird's Cup). She is currently in foal to Suave.

McCaskill (Copelan out of Bally Bis). She is currently in foal to Suave. May or may not retire her after this foal but would like suggestions for her as well. Her Tapit filly will be going to the 2 year old in training sell.

All suggestions are welcomed!

With Catienus coming back to KY at $10K, I REALLY like him for Allou. Inbreeding Raise a Native through Mr. Prospector and a NON Mr. Prospector source has provided nearly 500 Graded Stakes Winners, and Storm Cat with Easy Goer brought us Storm Flag Flying.

For McCaskill, you could take a peek at Eurosilver.

For Laird's Honor, I like Southern Image.

McCaskill --> Richter Scale -- Explore her potentiality to give sprinters

For Laird's Honor, I would like to see her go to Gulch. I think he's a real bargain at this moment and matches very well with your mare.

For Mcaskill, I would repeat Tapit on her.

If you're not sure you want to travel with McCaskill, you might consider Mercer Mill in Ohio. There's some nice linebreeding through prominent daughters of Quadrangle.
